This year I was privileged to be part of a small team of amateur cyclists to raise 180k for children and young people needing support.Timely news as Children in Need commences, so good luck to all with fundraisers of your own!
The ride was over 4 Days, 380 miles and from Lands’ End to Twickenham on some of the biggest and relentless hills my little legs have ever endured, but I made it.
I made it to the finish using principles I work to develop in others. Dealing with the pressure of wanting to finish took, resilience, motivation, teamwork, planning, some difficult conversations and much much more.
I guess I have walked my own talk - Except on a bike!
The biggest challenge of all was the killing of the ‘saboteur’ in my own mind, trying to muscle in and make me admit I couldn’t do it. I’ve learned to spot it, and take IT out! Whatever your challenge for yourself, or for charity, Shoot Your Saboteur. If you want to know how, drop me a line.
